1. What you type with the keyboard

Text you type is processed on your iPhone and is not sent to us or anyone else. Font styling, kana-kanji conversion, predictions and slang/trend suggestions all run on the device.

The only exception is Auto translate. Only when you tap the translate button, that text is sent through our relay server to the translation service DeepL (DeepL SE) and the translation is returned. Our relay server does not store the text or write it to logs. However, under the DeepL plan the App uses (DeepL API Developer), DeepL may store the text it receives and its translation. DeepL handles the text under DeepL's terms and privacy policy. Please don't translate anything private or any personal information.

In secure fields such as password fields, iOS automatically switches to the system keyboard, so the App never receives passwords.

2. Information kept only on your device

Conversion learning, favorites, scheduled messages with their photos/videos, and keyboard appearance settings are stored only on your device (in the area shared by the app and its keyboard) and are never sent. They are removed when you delete the App.

3. Information used to count translation usage

• Install ID: a random number created by the App. It contains no name, phone number, advertising ID or other identifying information.
• Usage: the number of translations and characters (not the translated text itself).
• Purchase verification: if you subscribe, we receive the purchase information signed by Apple (original transaction ID, product and expiry) to confirm your plan and manage limits.
• Apple DeviceCheck: to prevent repeated abuse of the free trial translations, we may use a per-device "used up" flag kept by Apple. We never receive information that identifies your device.

4. Purchases

Purchases, renewals, cancellations and refunds are handled by Apple (App Store). We never receive your payment information.

5. Ads and tracking

The App shows no ads, does not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and uses no analytics tools.

6. Trending words

Trending words are data reviewed by us that the App only downloads. Nothing you type is sent.

7. Service providers

• Cloudflare, Inc. (USA): relay server hosting
• Apple Inc. (USA): purchases and DeviceCheck

Except as required by law, we do not share information with any other third party.

8. Retention

• Monthly translation usage: 13 months
• Install ID and free trial usage: 2 years after last use
• Per-minute request counts (to prevent abuse): 1 hour

Records are deleted automatically after these periods.

9. Deletion and contact

Information on your device is removed when you delete the App. To request deletion of relay server records or to ask about this policy, please contact us below.

10. Changes

We will announce changes to this policy on this page, and important changes in the App as well.
